Social Science Researcher
Job Summary
Conducting extended qualitative fieldwork, the full-time Social Science Researcher will investigate the employment variations among migrant women across religious groups in South Asia, focusing on the South Asian diaspora in Texas, while working 100% remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake qualitative research and conduct life history interviews over an 8-month period, followed by literature review and writing
- Design interview protocols and recruitment strategies in consultation with the Principal Investigator
- Transcribe, organize, synthesize, and interpret qualitative data, contributing to academic manuscripts and public-facing writing
Required qualifications
- Experience in qualitative research methods and fieldwork
- Ability to independently recruit participants and conduct interviews
- Strong organizational skills for managing project logistics and documentation
- Familiarity with ethical standards and IRB compliance in research
- Proficiency in data analysis and writing for academic and public audiences
