Job Summary

To support innovative storytelling at Yahoo News, the full-time Social Visual Storytelling Designer will create engaging social content for platforms like Instagram and TikTok, design interactive experiences, and develop visual storytelling formats while working in a flexible hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Translate editorial reporting into compelling social content and design optimized visual packages for audience engagement
• Create interactive editorial experiences and map-based storytelling using various design tools
• Collaborate with the Social team on content planning and expand Yahoo's visual identity through scalable templates and workflows

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of applicable design and illustration experience
• Strong portfolio showcasing design skills, particularly in social content and data visualization
• Experience with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
• Familiarity with Ceros, Mapbox, and AI-powered creative tools
• Passion for journalism and emerging media formats
