Job Summary

To support Veterans Affairs initiatives, the full-time remote Software Developer will build and maintain cloud-based applications, design RESTful APIs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable data delivery and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard application for healthcare EDI transactions
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS while integrating with internal platform APIs
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews, ensuring best software engineering practices within an Agile framework

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on back-end technologies (Java and/or NodeJS)
• Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare or enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience with Angular for front-end development and API integration
• Strong knowledge of cloud services (AWS/Azure) and familiarity with API Gateway, Lambda, and related services
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
