Job Summary

To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time remote Software Developer will build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard application for processing healthcare Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions while designing and maintaining RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a cloud-based Web Dashboard application and RESTful APIs for EDI healthcare records
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable data delivery and support an Angular-based front-end
• Write clean, testable code, perform unit and integration testing, and promote best software engineering practices within an Agile framework

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on back-end technologies (Java and/or NodeJS)
• Proven experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare or enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience with Angular and integrating APIs into front-end components
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/Azure) and associated tools like API Gateway and Lambda
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
