Software Developer

Job Summary

To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Software Developer will build, maintain, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard application for processing healthcare EDI transactions, while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS to serve healthcare EDI records and integrate with internal platform APIs
• Support an Angular-based front-end by consuming APIs and ensuring accurate data presentation for users
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews while applying best practices within an Agile framework

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on back-end technologies, particularly Java and/or NodeJS
• Proven experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs that handle structured healthcare data
• Hands-on experience with Angular and modern front-end frameworks, including API integration
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/Azure) and tools such as Git/GitHub for version control
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
