Software Development Engineer

Job Summary

Passionate about database technologies, the full-time remote Software Development Engineer will architect, design, develop, and manage database as a service (DBaaS) for Workday's database infrastructure, focusing on high availability, scalability, and performance across multiple cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and manage DBaaS services for Workday's database infrastructure
• Design and develop APIs to enhance database availability, scalability, and performance
• Support large-scale database instances and partner with teams for continuous architecture improvements

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, CloudSQL, and other cloud-native databases
• 4+ years of backend development experience using languages such as Golang, Python, or Java
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
• Experience managing clustered, highly-available database services on Linux
• Familiarity with modern DevOps technologies and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
