Software Development Engineer II

Job Summary

Joining the Offline Search team as a full-time Software Development Engineer II, the candidate will design, code, and optimize core search algorithms for on-device execution, ensuring high-speed query resolution in mobile and automotive applications operating without network connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimize core search algorithms tailored for on-device execution under strict resource constraints
• Take ownership of offline data delivery systems, implementing advanced tile compression techniques and efficient delta update pipelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data processing pipelines and maintain parity between cloud and offline search products

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong proficiency in C++ with a solid understanding of memory management and systems-level programming
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages for tooling and data processing
• Proven experience in analyzing and optimizing code for performance-constrained environments
• Familiarity with data structures, algorithmic efficiency, and data compression techniques like Zstd
