Software Development Manager

Job Summary

Leading a team of software engineers, the full-time remote Software Development Manager will oversee the design, development, and delivery of components within the Merge enterprise imaging ecosystem, ensuring high-quality outcomes in a regulated medical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 6-10 software engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews, contributing to technical decisions and driving engineering best practices
• Deliver features and releases for enterprise imaging components on time, ensuring compliance with medical imaging standards and workflows

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with 3+ years in a management role
• Proven track record as a hands-on technical leader with experience in medical imaging software and knowledge of the DICOM standard
• Experience delivering software in regulated environments (e.g., IEC 62304, FDA, ISO 13485, HIPAA)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern delivery practices (CI/CD, containers, automated testing)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
