Software Documentation Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Software Documentation Specialist who will create and maintain documentation for software applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create, edit, and reformat software/user documentation to support application delivery and end-user adoption
• Attend development meetings to gather requirements and ensure documentation accuracy
• Produce documentation that is Section 508 compliant and suitable for public distribution

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience creating and maintaining documentation for software applications, preferably web applications
• Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility practices for documents and web content
• Ability to learn technical concepts and translate them into clear instructions for non-technical audiences
• Experience collaborating with software delivery teams and working from agile artifacts
• Familiarity with documentation collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Communications, Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
