Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer for a full-time remote position focused on building, improving, and evolving backend systems for a leading cloud infrastructure platform, requiring expertise in PHP and RESTful API design.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build reliable, well-documented RESTful APIs for internal teams and external customers at scale
• Navigate and extend a large, mature PHP monolith while improving stability and addressing technical debt
• Collaborate with engineering peers to review code, debug production issues, and contribute to architectural discussions

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional PHP development experience in a production environment
• Demonstrated experience designing and building RESTful APIs, including versioning and error handling
• Strong MySQL skills, including schema design and query optimization
• Experience working within large, legacy codebases and making targeted changes
• Understanding of SOLID software engineering principles and Git-based workflows
