Software Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely within a full-time capacity, the Software Engineer will develop and maintain front-end and back-end applications using React, React Native, and Python, focusing on supporting field operations for smallholder farmers in low-connectivity environments.

Key responsibilities

• Build, launch, and support applications for field and office operations using the primary tech stack of React, React Native, Python/Django, and PostgreSQL
• Maintain and improve applications for reliable performance in low-connectivity environments through offline-first engineering practices
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs while collaborating with a globally distributed cross-functional team

Required qualifications

• Proficiency in React and Python, with experience in developing complex applications
• Experience with test-driven development and writing tests
• Demonstrated proficiency in Git for version control
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized development environments
• Fluency in English; French fluency is a strong plus
