Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Software Engineer III to design and scale backend systems for data infrastructure, focusing on event-driven pipelines and APIs, while collaborating remotely with cross-functional teams to enhance Beacon's data platform.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with product managers and stakeholders to design new integrations and solutions for scaling the data platform
• Implement features with a focus on data integrity and maintainability throughout the system's lifecycle
• Draft RFCs to lead technical design phases and align team decisions for development

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience, with at least 2 years in data engineering or data-centric applications
• Strong proficiency in SQL and production experience with PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience with data streaming and event processing tools like Kafka or Amazon Kinesis
• Proficiency in a data-oriented programming language such as Julia, Python, or R
• Experience deploying services in containerized environments, with familiarity in Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code tools
