Software Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Software Engineer on Dev Tools will design, build, and operate foundational systems for Airbnb engineering, focusing on infrastructure challenges involving distributed systems, Kubernetes, and developer workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate cloud development environments and execution platforms for engineers and AI agents
• Scale Kubernetes-based worker pools and control planes for parallel and asynchronous workloads
• Strengthen source-control and code-review systems to accommodate growing PR volume and automation

Required qualifications

• 2-4+ years of industry experience with a bachelor's and/or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple engineers
• Strong ownership and experience building and operating high-scale, distributed systems
• Familiarity with container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS services like EKS, EC2, and VPCs
