Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support the modernization mission, the full-time remote Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain high-volume business logic on the mainframe, while refactoring legacy code for cloud and mobile application integration.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize mainframe architecture to enhance performance and prevent decay
• Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions to ensure mission-critical applications run smoothly
• Extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services

Required qualifications

• Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or .Net, with strong debugging skills
• Familiarity with software development methodologies and experience in developing scalable software
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, and REST-based web services
• Understanding of architecture design, including microservices, containers, and messaging queues
