Software Engineer

Job Summary

As a full-time remote Software Engineer on the Dev Tools team, the successful candidate will design, build, and operate foundational systems for Airbnb engineers, focusing on infrastructure challenges related to distributed systems, Kubernetes, and developer workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate cloud development environments and execution platforms for engineers and AI agents
• Scale Kubernetes-based worker pools and improve AirDev validation for quick testing of changes
• Strengthen source-control and code-review systems while mentoring engineers and making architectural decisions

Required qualifications

• 2-4+ years of industry experience with a bachelor's and/or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple engineers
• Strong ownership and experience building high-scale, distributed systems across the full software life cycle
• Familiarity with container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS services like EKS, EC2, and networking
