Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing practice, the full-time remote Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain technical systems and application infrastructure for high-quality, human-centered information experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain web application infrastructure and data systems for interactive information experiences
• Establish and uphold application-layer technical standards, including code quality and performance benchmarks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engaging data stories, visualizations, and user interfaces

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems) or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in application engineering or software development with a focus on back-end services and data APIs
• Proficiency in one or more back-end languages (e.g., Python, Javascript, TypeScript) and familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue)
• Experience integrating generative AI capabilities into applications, including working with LLM APIs
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and deployment practices, preferably Azure, including CI/CD and application security
