Software Engineer

Job Summary

As a key contributor to modernization efforts, the full-time remote Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain high-volume business logic on the mainframe while optimizing performance, debugging complex systems, and facilitating the integration of legacy systems with cloud-based services.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize mainframe architecture to enhance performance and prevent decay
• Debug and troubleshoot complex system interactions to ensure mission-critical applications remain operational
• Extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud services

Required qualifications

• Experience as a software engineer on complex software projects
• Proficiency in coding and development with languages such as Java, Python, or .Net
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, XML/JSON, and REST-based web services
• Knowledge of microservices architecture, containers (Docker & Kubernetes), and messaging queues
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
