Software Engineer
Job Summary
Bringing specialist knowledge to a critical modernization mission, the full-time remote Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain high-volume business logic on mainframe systems while refactoring legacy code for modern application integration.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor architecture to identify optimization opportunities and enhance mainframe performance
- Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions to ensure mission-critical applications run smoothly
- Extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services
Required qualifications
- Experience as a software engineer on complex software projects
- Strong coding skills in languages such as Java, Python, or .Net, with solid debugging experience
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and experience in developing scalable software
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, and REST-based web services
- Understanding of architecture design, including microservices and containerization (Docker & Kubernetes)
