Software Engineer
Job Summary
Owning the architecture and design of the platform behind Slack's voice agent, the contract Software Engineer will work remotely to develop RESTful web services, manage CI/CD infrastructure, and collaborate with design and product teams to ensure high-quality voice interactions.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and design the voice agent platform, including service decomposition, API contracts, and data models
- Develop and operate RESTful web services and real-time communication layers for low-latency voice experiences
- Lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and ensure adherence to technical standards
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience at a principal/architect level on large-scale distributed systems
- Expert-level REST API design skills and experience with SOAP/WSDL enterprise web services
- Production experience with real-time systems, including WebSockets and streaming APIs
- Deep background in JVM services (Java and/or Kotlin) with expertise in Maven and Jenkins
- Experience building services for mobile clients with a focus on API contract needs
