Software Engineer 5

Job Summary

To support the development of AI-driven solutions, the remote Software Engineer 5 will design, build, and operate the Agent SDK and MCP Gateway, enabling Netflix engineers to create and manage AI agents in production.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operate the Agent SDK and MCP Gateway for building and deploying AI agents
• Build and maintain agent infrastructure across the full lifecycle, including planning, acting, observing, and integrating tools
• Implement evaluation mechanisms to measure agent performance and ensure reliability at scale

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of quality results
• Hands-on experience with building, deploying, and evaluating LLM agents in production environments
• Familiarity with agent frameworks/SDKs and tool/function calling integrations
• Strong experience in building SDKs and APIs for developers
• Proficiency in Python and experience with one or more additional programming languages such as Java, Go, or C/C++
