Software Engineer - AI/HPC Middleware

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Software Engineer - AI/HPC Middleware, the successful candidate will develop and optimize AI and HPC communication middleware, focusing on enabling and tuning middleware features, integrating with transport layers, and contributing to upstream open-source projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and optimize features for HPC middleware (MPI/SHMEM) and AI middleware (CCL stacks such as NCCL/RCCL)
• Assist in integrating middleware capabilities with underlying transport and provider layers (e.g., libfabric / OFI, UCX)
• Prepare and submit upstream contributions across MPI/SHMEM projects and CCL ecosystems

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in systems programming in C/C++ on Linux; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Exposure to HPC middleware (e.g., MPI/SHMEM) and/or AI collective communication libraries (e.g., NCCL/RCCL)
• Familiarity with performance concepts and diagnostic tools
• Foundational understanding of networking and/or RDMA concepts
