Software Engineer Application Consultant

Job Summary

To drive innovation and transformation, the full-time remote Software Engineer Application Consultant will maintain and enhance a disaster recovery portal's backend and frontend, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure secure and reliable operations while documenting implementation decisions and integration contracts.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the FastAPI backend, including API routes, service boundaries, and health checks
• Build and maintain backend integrations for various systems, including headless Drupal and notification services
• Document implementation decisions and operational assumptions to ensure maintainability and clarity for the broader team

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Python backend development, particularly using FastAPI or similar frameworks
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
• Practical understanding of security principles, including OAuth/OIDC and secure session handling
• Working knowledge of React and TypeScript for frontend development
• Ability to write and maintain various tests to ensure code quality and maintainability
