Software Engineer, Biodiversity

Job Summary

To support a growing conservation initiative, the full-time Software Engineer, Biodiversity will design and build a cloud-based biodiversity monitoring platform, collaborating with scientists and conservation practitioners while working remotely and traveling as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy a scalable cloud-based biodiversity monitoring platform that supports conservation projects
• Integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning models into automated biodiversity analysis workflows
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate conservation needs into practical software solutions

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related science-focused field
• Minimum of three years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining production software applications
• Strong proficiency in modern programming languages, such as Python, for backend software development
• Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively
