Software Engineer, Cloud Networking

Job Summary

Working remotely in the USA or Canada, the full-time Software Engineer, Cloud Networking will design and operate critical infrastructure components that connect Airbnb users and services globally, focusing on cloud-native networking technologies and security systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate with open source communities to develop the next-generation service mesh for Airbnb back-end services
• Build cross-region gateways and load balancers to enhance global service delivery
• Design multi-region network architecture on public clouds and create tools for managing the production network

Required qualifications:

• 2+ years of software development experience in a high-growth tech environment
• Expertise in network architecture on public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with large-scale networking systems and software, including edge proxies and DNS
• Strong ownership and experience in building and operating high-scale, distributed systems
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering teams
