Software Engineer, DBaaS

Job Summary

Passionate about database technologies, the full-time remote Software Engineer, DBaaS will architect, design, develop, and manage DBaaS services for Workday's database infrastructure, focusing on high availability and performance across multiple cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and manage DBaaS services for Workday's database infrastructure
• Design and develop APIs to enhance database availability, scalability, and performance
• Provide support for large-scale database instances across various environments and participate in on-call rotations

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in managing mission-critical production workloads on MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other cloud-native databases
• 3+ years of backend development experience using modern programming languages such as Golang, Python, or Java
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with cloud hyperscalers like AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
• Experience with modern DevOps technologies and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance, with an active TS/SCI w/CI Poly preferred
