Software Engineer, Distributed Data Systems (IN)
Job Summary
As a foundational member of the Data Infrastructure team, the full-time Software Engineer, Distributed Data Systems (IN) will build and productionize the next generation of data technology, focusing on optimizing Apache Hudi's transactional engine and enhancing database internals, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement new concurrency control and transactional capabilities to maximize throughput for competing writers
- Collaborate with engineers to optimize and deploy solutions in production, enhancing metadata and data access systems
- Analyze existing systems to identify inefficiencies and develop prototypes for optimization solutions
Required qualifications
- Strong object-oriented design and coding skills in Java and/or C/C++ on UNIX or Linux platforms
- Experience with distributed systems, algorithms, and relational databases
- Ability to tackle ambiguous problems and articulate technical challenges and solutions
- Proficiency in solving complex programming and optimization problems
- Experience in quickly prototyping optimization solutions and analyzing large data sets
