Software Engineer II

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Software Engineer II to join the RV & Camping Division, responsible for developing and enhancing WordPress-based websites for the Newbook platform, utilizing AI-assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency and software quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes, plugins, and integrations for the Newbook Websites product
• Utilize AI-assisted tools for coding, debugging, testing, and documentation to enhance development workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into reliable technical solutions and participate in development practices

Required qualifications

• 3-5 years of software engineering experience, with a focus on building and maintaining production web applications
• Hands-on experience with WordPress, including custom themes and plugins, and familiarity with the WordPress REST API
• Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; experience with React and TypeScript is a plus
• Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools in a production environment
• Strong understanding of software architecture, debugging, testing, and performance considerations specific to customer-facing websites
