Software Engineer II

Job Summary

Focused on building and maintaining critical backend systems, the remote Software Engineer II will design and execute software projects for the Message Mailflow team, ensuring the stability and scalability of services that process billions of emails daily.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement software projects critical to the core product, collaborating with a team of engineers throughout the development lifecycle
• Own and enhance the performance and reliability of tier 0 backend services, participating in on-call rotations to maintain system uptime
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency and reduce operational overhead while contributing to team knowledge sharing

Required qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or a related engineering field
• 3+ years of experience in backend software development and distributed systems
• Proficiency in Go and/or Python
• Experience working with distributed teams and in asynchronous communication
• Ability to build features and components from scratch while balancing operational tasks
