Software Engineer II

Job Summary

To support the AI Platform team, the remote contract Software Engineer II will develop backend architecture for large language models, integrate external data sources, and optimize search quality for educational tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance backend architecture for AI-powered educational tools
• Integrate external data sources to enable reasoning capabilities within AI features
• Implement system resiliency features to maintain performance and availability

Required qualifications

• Proven experience with asynchronous Python (3.11+) and production-level asyncio
• Deep understanding of FastAPI, Pydantic v2, and modern Python development tools
• Hands-on experience with LangGraph, LangChain core, and prompt engineering
• Knowledge of multi-agent workflows and RAG retrieval techniques
• Operational familiarity with PostgreSQL, pgvector, Elasticsearch, AWS, and Kubernetes
