Software Engineer II

Job Summary

Supporting the AI Platform team remotely on a contract basis, the Software Engineer II will develop backend architecture for large language models, integrate data sources for AI features, and optimize search strategies for educational tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance backend architecture for an agentic large language model system
• Integrate external data sources to enable reasoning capabilities within AI-powered features
• Implement system resiliency features and ensure reliability through automated testing and lifecycle management

Required qualifications

• Proven experience with asynchronous Python (3.11+) and production-level asyncio
• Deep understanding of FastAPI, Pydantic v2, and modern Python development tools
• Hands-on experience with LangGraph, LangChain core, and prompt engineering for AI systems
• Knowledge of multi-agent workflows and RAG retrieval techniques
• Operational familiarity with PostgreSQL, pgvector, Elasticsearch, and experience deploying on AWS and Kubernetes
