Software Engineer II, Backend

Job Summary

To support the ML Training & Serving engineering team, the full-time remote Software Engineer II, Backend will design, develop, and maintain backend systems while collaborating across engineering to enhance model training and serving infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Break down larger projects into manageable tasks and collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery
• Support product development by articulating technical constraints and partnering on risk assessment and decision-making
• Create and monitor metrics for team artifacts to ensure operational availability and support on-call efforts

Required qualifications

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Proficiency in designing and launching backend systems using Python or Kotlin
• Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• Experience in writing clear, well-tested, and extensible code that interacts with multiple software components
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
