Software Engineer III

Job Summary

To support the Fundamental AI Research team, the contract Software Engineer III will design datasets for multimodal AI training, run model evaluations, and develop internal tools using React and TypeScript in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Design human and model-based datasets for training and evaluating multimodal large language models (MLLMs)
• Run frontier model evaluations and implement common metrics
• Develop annotation task UIs and data-heavy internal tools using React and TypeScript

Required qualifications

• Proficiency in React and TypeScript
• Experience with multimodal data (image, video, audio, text)
• Knowledge of model evaluation metrics
• Ability to fine-tune models on labeled datasets
• Experience in executing secure data ingestion pipelines
