Software Engineer III
Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time salaried Software Engineer III will support the development of digital services for Veterans Affairs by estimating and completing development tasks, mentoring junior developers, and driving improvements in engineering processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Estimate and complete development tasks including coding, requirements gathering, and analysis with minimal guidance
- Mentor junior developers and improve engineering processes through influential skills
- Participate in on-call rotations and present work to internal and external stakeholders
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of engineering experience
- Expert experience with Ruby on Rails, API Design & Development
- Experience with React/Redux, JavaScript, HTML & CSS
- Experience with Postman, Datadog, and RSpec
- Experience responding to and triaging production issues
