Software Engineer III
Job Summary
Seeking a Software Engineer III with strong Ruby on Rails expertise, this remote full-time position will own feature development for Rails-based backend services, guide junior engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions within the Board, Discovery & Live team.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in team-level architectural decisions around data modeling, service boundaries, and API design
- Take ownership of features from technical design through delivery, breaking complex projects into manageable pieces
- Produce high-quality Ruby code that is idiomatic, performant, and well-tested
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience with Ruby on Rails applications
- Experience delivering complex features within a software team to drive business outcomes
- Strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design and query optimization
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and background job processing
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
