Software Engineer III
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Software Engineer III will design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs for GitHub Copilot, ensuring high performance and reliability while collaborating with a diverse team.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain backend services and APIs connecting GitHub Copilot to model providers
- Own scoped features end to end, ensuring operational readiness and safe rollout
- Improve service latency, throughput, and capacity efficiency while maintaining high availability
Required qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
- Experience with cloud-native services, including containers and managed cloud infrastructure
- Familiarity with observability and reliability engineering practices
- Experience integrating new models and provider capabilities with a focus on safety and compatibility
