Software Engineer - Python

Job Summary

To support innovative AI projects, the freelance Software Engineer - Python will design coding tasks for AI coding agents, creating Docker environments and writing pytest tests while working remotely on a project-based basis.

Key responsibilities

• Invent realistic developer scenarios and build reproducible Docker environments with pinned dependencies
• Write pytest tests that verify outcomes and create instructional documentation for developers
• Iterate on tasks based on feedback from expert QA reviewers and later review other authors' tasks

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of production software development experience in a backend stack such as Python, Go, Node.js, Java, or Rust
• Fluency in Python and pytest, with experience in writing tests and using fixtures and parametrize
• Proficiency in Docker authoring and debugging within Linux and Bash environments
• Experience with AI coding agents and the ability to identify and address their limitations
• English proficiency at a B2+ level or higher
