Software Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading a team dedicated to the Ford Container-as-a-Service platform, the full-time Software Engineering Manager will oversee the design and delivery of a unified Kubernetes infrastructure, ensuring secure and scalable operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the Kubernetes Platform Services team to optimize deployment and operational efficiency
• Own the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Kubernetes clusters, ensuring integration and compliance with security and performance standards
• Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to provide expert guidance and foster a culture of knowledge sharing

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of overall Software Engineering / IT experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
• Proven experience managing and deploying Kubernetes clusters in production environments
• Strong working knowledge of public cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications
