Job Summary

Leading a team of five engineers, the full-time Software Engineering Manager will oversee Figma's observability and cost engineering platforms, defining strategies for instrumentation standards and optimizing observability footprint while working remotely in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team focused on the reliability and scalability of observability systems
• Own and operate the core observability stack, ensuring high availability and data quality
• Define technical strategies for instrumentation standards and explore AI-driven solutions for operational automation

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of experience leading infrastructure, observability, or platform engineering teams
• Deep hands-on experience with modern observability platforms like Datadog and OpenTelemetry
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and instrumentation best practices
• Experience with cost transparency initiatives, including budgeting and forecasting in cloud environments
• Proven ability to set technical direction and drive cross-functional alignment
