Software Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading a team of embedded software engineers, the full-time remote Common Operating System Software Engineering Manager will drive the development and integration of Linux software products, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards while fostering collaboration across multiple business units.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage engineering activities for safety-critical and non-safety critical Linux developments, ensuring compliance with DO-178C standards
• Oversee staffing needs and create a talent pipeline to meet project timelines, while driving technical planning and execution
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software components and maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
• At least one year of experience in a leadership role or completion of the Boeing internal course Exploring Leadership
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship
• 3+ years of experience in program execution and SDLC
• 2+ years of experience leading technical projects with real-time operating systems and developing software for safety-critical systems
