Software Engineering Manager

Job Summary

To support the core Vehicle product, the full-time salaried Software Engineering Manager will lead two teams focused on feature delivery and operational excellence, driving technical strategy and fostering engineer growth in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams, promoting a high-performing and self-organizing culture
• Mature the Operational Excellence team by establishing practices for incident response and continuous reliability improvement
• Define roadmaps and priorities for engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with business value while managing team planning and delivery

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience preferred
• 3+ years of experience in a management or technical leadership role
• 5-9+ years of experience developing server-side applications, preferably in the Java/Spring ecosystem
• Experience leading and mentoring a remote or geographically distributed engineering team
• Proven ability to define and use metrics to monitor system reliability and team performance
