Software Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading a newly formed data engineering team, the full-time remote Software Engineering Manager will drive data engineering standards and initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide hands-on technical guidance in cloud data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers to establish data engineering best practices across Applied's platforms
• Drive high-visibility initiatives in collaboration with Product, Architecture, and Engineering teams
• Provide technical guidance in SQL optimization, data modeling, and the GCP data/streaming stack

Required qualifications

• Advanced SQL skills in cloud data warehousing platforms like BigQuery or Snowflake
• Hands-on experience with the GCP data and streaming stack, including BigQuery and Dataflow
• Experience leading and coaching engineering teams with a focus on technical and people leadership
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with Python, Go, and observability tools such as DataDog
