To support project-based AI initiatives, the part-time Software Engineering Evaluation Specialist will design coding tasks for AI agents, creating self-contained Docker environments with broken software, automated tests, and comprehensive instructions for developers.
Key responsibilities
- Invent realistic developer scenarios with broken software for AI agents to fix
- Build reproducible Docker environments and write pytest tests to verify outcomes
- Calibrate task difficulty to ensure AI agents can solve them 20-60% of the time
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of production software development experience in a backend stack (Python, Go, Node.js, Java, or Rust)
- Fluency in Python and pytest, with experience in writing tests and debugging
- Proficiency in Docker authoring and creating reproducible Dockerfiles
- Comfort with Linux and Bash for debugging within containers
- Experience with AI coding agents on non-trivial work
