Software Engineering Specialist
Job Summary
To support project-based AI opportunities, the part-time Software Engineering Evaluation Specialist will design coding tasks for AI agents, creating Docker environments with broken software, automated tests, and instructional materials, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Invent realistic developer scenarios with broken software for AI agents to fix
- Build reproducible Docker environments and write automated tests using pytest
- Iterate on task designs based on feedback from expert QA reviewers
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of production software development experience in one backend stack (Python, Go, Node.js, Java, or Rust)
- Fluency in Python and pytest, with experience in writing tests from scratch
- Proficiency in Docker authoring and creating reproducible Dockerfiles
- Comfort with Linux and Bash for debugging inside containers
- Experience with AI coding agents and the ability to cite specific instances of their performance
