Software Modernization Engineer
Job Summary
To leverage cutting-edge AI technology for software modernization, the full-time remote Software Modernization Engineer will analyze, refactor, and transform complex legacy codebases into modern cloud-based solutions while contributing to the organization's modernization strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and understand complex legacy mainframe codebases using generative AI tools to identify optimization opportunities
- Utilize AI for refactoring and re-architecting mainframe applications into modern languages and architectures
- Design and implement data migration strategies from legacy systems to modern databases or cloud platforms
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience using LLMs through APIs (e.g., Claude, Gemini)
- Familiarity with different LLM architectures and prompt engineering techniques
- Technical experience with cloud computing, including designing and managing cloud-based solutions
- Cloud certifications in architecture, data engineering, and/or machine learning
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
