Software Quality Engineer

Job Summary

To support the NuScale Enterprise Software Team, the full-time Contractor Software Quality Engineer will lead the evaluation and updating of software plans and procedures to ensure compliance with NQA-1 quality frameworks, working remotely within the contiguous United States with potential travel for business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Leads the evaluation of existing software programmatic infrastructure against NQA-1 2008/2009a and 2022 quality frameworks
• Prepares plans, procedures, and desktop instructions for software compliance with NQA-1 and applicable IEEE standards
• Provides guidance to other departments in meeting software regulations as needed

Required qualifications

• B.S. or B.A. degree, with a technical degree preferred; ten plus years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development and/or implementation of nuclear quality assurance programs
• Strong technical writing skills and experience creating documents per ASME NQA-1 and IEEE standards
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage complex projects and conflicting priorities
• Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
