Solidworks Drafter

Job Summary

Supporting advanced reactor design work, the contract Solidworks Drafter will create and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawings while adhering to ASME standards and performing tolerance stack-ups, with options for onsite work in Bellevue or remote for exceptionally qualified candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Create structural and mechanical design solutions, 3D CAD models, and engineering drawings for reactor structures and components
• Develop and maintain complex mechanical designs using Solidworks CAD system and produce engineering drawings adhering to ASME Y14.1 and Y14.5 standards
• Conduct trade studies, document design progress, and create technical presentations and reports to communicate design advancements

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience with proficiency in SolidWorks CAD system
• Experience using product data management (PDM) software
• Proven ability to produce engineering and fabrication drawings in SolidWorks
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
• Background in Mechanical and Machine Design with a focus on designing for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA)
