Solidworks Drafter

Job Summary

Supporting advanced reactor design work, the contract Solidworks Drafter will create and maintain SolidWorks 3D CAD models and engineering drawings, produce documentation to ASME standards, and perform tolerance stack-ups while working onsite in Bellevue, WA, or remotely for exceptionally qualified non-local candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Create structural and mechanical design solutions, 3D CAD models, and engineering drawings for reactor structures and components
• Develop and maintain complex mechanical designs using the Solidworks CAD system and produce engineering drawings adhering to ASME Y14.1 and Y14.5 standards
• Conduct trade studies to identify optimal design options and document progress, changes, and decisions through collaboration platforms

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience with proficiency in SolidWorks CAD system
• Experience using product data management (PDM) software
• Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
• Proven ability to produce engineering and fabrication drawings in SolidWorks
• Background in Mechanical and Machine Design, with experience in designing for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA)
