SolidWorks Drafter

Job Summary

To support advanced reactor design work, the contract SolidWorks Drafter will create and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawings, produce documentation to ASME standards, and perform tolerance stack-ups, with the opportunity for remote work for exceptionally qualified non-local candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Create structural and mechanical design solutions, 3D CAD models, and engineering drawings for reactor structures and components
• Develop and maintain complex mechanical designs using the SolidWorks CAD system
• Produce engineering drawings and perform tolerance stack-up calculations while maintaining configuration control using PDM software

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience with proficiency in SolidWorks CAD system
• Experience using product data management (PDM) software
• Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
• Experience reviewing fabrication drawings and designing for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA)
• Background in Mechanical and Machine Design
