Somali Consecutive Interpreter

Job Summary

To facilitate effective communication, the contracted Somali Consecutive Interpreter will provide interpretation services during phone calls and meetings while working remotely, ensuring clarity and cultural sensitivity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consecutive interpretation services during various over-the-phone situations
• Listen carefully to the speaker and accurately convey the message in the target language
• Maintain professionalism and comply with HIPAA and client protocols throughout the interpretation process

Required qualifications

• 1+ year of experience or 3000+ hours of active interpretation
• Proficiency in at least two languages (source and target languages)
• Proof of English language proficiency with a "technical proficiency" rating
• Completion of Mock Call assessment with a passing score
• Technical infrastructure to support interpretation assignments (headset, stable internet, laptop)
