South Carolina Canvasser

Job Summary

Engaging with community members through door-to-door outreach, the part-time hourly South Carolina Canvasser will conduct conversations about care needs, mobilize voters for participation, and identify new contacts to strengthen the organization's network, primarily working onsite in Orangeburg with some remote opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

• Canvass neighborhoods and engage in-person and over the phone with residents about their care needs and affordability challenges
• Conduct targeted outreach at community centers and events to connect with care workers and families
• Track canvassing efforts and interactions using the VAN and participate in regular debriefs to share insights and progress

Required qualifications:

• Access to a car with insurance and a smartphone with reliable internet access
• Ability to engage with diverse community members and conduct in-person outreach weekly
• Willingness to perform phone banking as assigned
• Strong interpersonal skills and an outgoing personality
• Goal-oriented with strong organizational skills and a positive attitude
